Definition
Set of practices to rank content in the organic results of traditional search engines (Google, Bing). It combines technical work (structure, speed, crawlability, schema), content work (relevance, intent, keywords) and authority work (inbound links). It generates sustained traffic that does not depend on paying for each click.
