Definition
Gentle design pushes that steer the user's decision toward a desired option without restricting their freedom of choice. A concept popularized by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein in *Nudge* (2008), applied intensively to UX. Unlike Gamification, it does not wrap the experience in playful fiction; it operates through defaults, contrast, scarcity, comparison and feedback.
