Definition

Return on Investment: ratio that measures the profitability of an investment. Formula: (Gain − Investment) / Investment × 100. In marketing it is calculated over campaigns, channels or complete initiatives. Different from ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), which measures only the return on advertising spend without deducting other costs.
