Definition
Integrated Marketing Communication: approach that ensures a consistent and coherent brand message across all communication channels (advertising, public relations, digital marketing, social media, events, sales, customer service). It emerged in the 1990s as a response to media fragmentation and to the need to coordinate disciplines that historically operated in silos.
